Although not in the news nearly as much as 2 years ago, every winter influenza is a risk to cause serious illness. Last year children who came down with the flu had fevers, coughs, chills, sore throats, headaches and generalized body aches that often kept them out of school for a week. It is recommended by every professional medical society that all children greater than 6 months should receive a flu shot. This year the regular seasonal flu shot and Flu Mist does contain the H1N1 strain as well as two other strains. Please protect your child and call up today to check on availability of a flu shot for your child. Dr Herron -- September 8, 2011.
Flu shots are available. 9/8/2011
We periodically receive shipments of Flu vaccine from the Health Department. We now have some vaccines available for all ages 6 months and above. We also have a limited number of Flu Mist doses which are the nasally administered vaccine for those children 2 years and older who do not have asthma. Please call the office to schedule an appointment. We are not expecting any shortages of flu vaccine, but because of demand we may periodically experiece shortages. We will be having Saturday Flu vaccination clinics periodically throught the autumn months as supplies allow.
